My Top 7 Greatest Video Game Soundtracks

Video game music has the power to create unforgettable memories. A great soundtrack can make a battle more epic, a city feel alive, or an adventure feel legendary. Here are my personal favorite game themes and the talented composers behind them.

Top 1 – Medal of Honor: Allied Assault

The Vice City theme instantly transports you to 1980s Miami. Inspired by the atmosphere of Miami Vice, Scarface, and the synth-driven new wave era, it perfectly captures the neon-lit streets and glamorous lifestyle that define the game. Although Lex Horton composed this iconic theme, relatively little public information is available about him.

Over the years, the theme has been performed by numerous orchestras around the world and has become one of the defining musical works in video game history.

These soundtracks represent different eras and genres, but they all share one quality: they elevate their games into unforgettable experiences. Whether through epic orchestras, atmospheric synthesizers, or powerful folk influences, these composers created music that continues to inspire players decades later.
